Anindita Ghose has been at Transact Campus for nearly eight months, and the days are going by quickly.

“I can’t believe how time is flying here. There’s still so much for me to learn and accomplish,” Ghose said.

Ghose, a Product Owner, works with the Data Analytics and Reporting (DAR) engineering and is based out of the Transact office in Limerick, Ireland

“DAR is an enabler team, so I will have the opportunity to work with different Product Owners and Product Managers across many verticals within the organization as we will need to bring in data into our lakehouse to produce cross functional reports for both internal and external customers (a lakehouse is data management architecture that combines key capabilities of data lakes and data warehouses),” she said.

Some of Ghose’s top priorities for this year are to integrate her application’s data warehouse with more Transact products so she and her team can present trend analysis and cross functional reporting for clients such as Western Washington University, Michigan State University, and UCLA. Since joining Transact, she has been able to get data from the Integrated Payments and Campus Commerce teams, and she looks forward to connecting with the Mobile Credential and IDX™ teams in the near future.

“Cross functional reporting will help both internal and external stakeholders make necessary and strategic decisions,” she said.

Before Transact, Ghose worked as Product Owner at Accenture and with 888 Sports. She also worked as Business Analyst at other various companies in Ireland.

A day in the life

“As a product owner, I work with an agile development team, and am currently focused on Transact Insights.” Transacts Insights provides easy access to payments data needed by campus administrators, to help streamline operations and reduce manual processes.

“As it pertains to Campus Payments, our team works on producing valuable insights / trends on payments which can help our clients make necessary decisions. With Campus Commerce, our focus is currently limited to generating POS / kiosks data. By the end of 2023, we aim to start working with Campus ID data,” Ghose said.

“Some of my responsibilities include participating in daily scrum calls, meeting with product managers on roadmap priorities, getting their requirements, writing user stories, clarifying any queries raised by the development team members and many others. My priority is to work towards our product roadmap and gather information, so my team is aware of upcoming priorities and goals. I also try to help my team members unblock any urgent roadblock issues. Lastly, I help onboard customers in my application and work with my product manager to develop various processes for my application.”

“One thing I always do is to listen to people, particularly my team members. I try to understand any issues happening and try to resolve them. I’m also very transparent and keep everyone updated on what’s happening. This helps us work more efficiently and fosters a good sense of trust. I believe in having a collaborative, open, and friendly working environment in which everyone can put their opinions. I plan to continue this path to achieve my team’s goals,” she said.

Ghose said she was drawn to Transact because she loved the domain in which the company is operating

“I have never worked for an organization which helps universities and their students. I thought it would be a great opportunity for me to work here with the data analytics team as data-driven decisions are greatly needed on college campuses. Not only will I be able to learn about this domain with the data analytics team, I can also bring my Business Analyst and Product Owner expertise to help deliver projects. Moreover, Transact is working on new, cutting-edge technologies and thinking out of the box, which gives us a competitive advantage over others,” she said.

Beyond the workplace

Ghose, who lives in Dublin, Ireland, works remotely with once-a-month visits to the office. Outside of work, her hobbies include music.

“Music is very important to me...it relieves me from any stress, anxiety, and pain. It also makes me feel happy and positive. Sometimes I love instrumentals, sometimes jazz and sometimes even Indian classical. In any case, music is part of my life and I listen to different genres every day,” she said

She also likes traveling with friends.

“So far, I have traveled to different places in India, Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK, US, Poznan (Poland) and Serbia,” she said.

Coin collecting also interests Ghose.

“I have a small coin collection. Some of them are not in use in today’s world, like one Indian Rupee coin from 1947, the year when India got its freedom. I received these from my grandparents and would like to preserve them, so I’ll have them when I grow old,” she said.

Ghose is a big foodie who “loves to eat.”

"I love all kinds of food, whatever tastes good. I cook a lot of Indian dishes and when I go out, I choose either Thai, Chinese, or Italian. I hate to cook, but my friends call me a good cook, so I assume I might be one,” she said

Who does Ghose admire in the corporate world?

“Mr. Ratan Tata is someone whose vision, values, ethics, and humble nature have made him standout among all others. Even though he is the chairman of the Tata group, he can be seen visiting his employees and checking on with them. He also looks to solve problems of common middle-class people; for example, he came up with the idea of selling the most affordable cars in India, called Tata Nano. He also donates his worth towards noble causes. Even after rising to such heights, he has always been humble and down-to-earth, which inspires me a lot,” she said.
