It’s a wrap! Another Transact 360o Annual User Conference is in the books, and it was bigger and better than ever. Featuring record-breaking attendance and informative presentations from clients, team leaders, and innovators, it was a memorable, thought-provoking experience for all. Groundbreaking partnerships and innovations were announced to a packed audience—the conference was overflowing with inspiration and ideas. “These are the most important few days of the year, just to be able to spend this quality time with clients and partners,” said Nancy Langer, CEO, Transact.

In addition to informational sessions on a wide range of topics, there were lots of opportunities for clients and partners to network in-person, a welcome change since the previous two conferences were virtual or hybrid. It was great to see everyone in person at events such as the Welcome Reception and Client Appreciation Party, complete with great food, dancing, and dueling pianos!

If you couldn’t join us for Transact 360o in Atlanta, Georgia, last week, don’t worry—we've got you covered. Here are the top five things you missed:

  1. Dr. Michael J. Sorrell delivers powerful keynote speech. One of the highlights of the conference was hearing from Dr. Michael J. Sorrell, our keynote speaker. Dr. Sorrell is the longest-serving President in the 149-year history of Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas, a nationally regarded institution for its willingness to expand the boundaries of higher education to better serve the needs of under-resourced students and their communities. Dr. Sorrell explained the backstory and struggles of Paul Quinn College, a once widely undercapitalized institution. His goal was to create a model of higher education that transforms society by ending intergenerational poverty. By focusing on building strong pillars in academics, a business model, athletics, and the community, he reached his goal and then some. Paul Quinn College became one of the five most innovative schools in America, boasting:

  • Reduced student loan debt by almost $30,000

  • Raised graduation rates by more than 25%

  • Largest enrollment in more than 20 years

Sorrell described how he created a safe space for his students at his school to talk about their struggles and challenges. “I want people to know that they can do that, and that we hear you. And that so much of what you accomplish at work, while it is important, I just don’t think it means as much if you aren’t okay,” he said.

Some of his key messages included: “Speak to the needs of the people you serve,” “Nothing great happens from places of comfort,” “Lead with love,” and “Dream. Fight. Win.” Dr. Sorrell’s speech captivated the entire audience, leaving everyone feeling inspired and motivated.
